Good news : the French translation of your work "JW and the cross" is progressing.

I have encountered some major difficulties : French transcriptions of classical and patristics texts are not so easy to find, and very often incomplete ... the only solution was to translate myself the English text (or sometimes from Latin / Greek, because the "old" English was too obscure for me :-)

Another thing was to retrace the exact French translations of the WT and AW magazines ... dates of publication not matching with the original printing.

Be patient. I don't forget you !

Numbers both literal and symbolic (April 1st Watchtower)

i wonder how many readers of the watchtower have noticed the seeming inconsistency of the 144,000 teaching in the april 1st issue?.

after discussing the symbolic nature of the numbers 666 on the wild beast comes this statement:.

"immediately after disclosing the number 666, revelation mentions 144,000 followers of the lamb, jesus christ, who have his name and the name of his father, jehovah, written on their foreheads.".

In Revelation chapter 7 verse 4, John says : "And I HEARD the number of those who where sealed ..." and in verse 9 : "After these things I SAW, and, look ! a great crowd ..."

*** In other words, John doesn't see the 144 000, but he hears the number. After that, he sees a great crowd.

In Revelation chapter 14 verse 1, John declares : " And I SAW ... a hundred and forty-four thousand ...", but he doesn't see a great crowd (in fact, he doesn't mention it).

Conclusion : The 144 000 and the great crowd are the same group of Christ's followers.

ok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.

so i have uploaded the new maps which have been updated to include everyone who has asked.. so if you were wondering where we are from.

Contradiction or new light ?

in the wt dated 1st of april 2004, last page, there is an article entitled "should we invoke the angels ?

" (sorry, it is my own translation, because i have the magazine in french).. the article specifies that "the bible reveals only the name of two faithfull angels : mikael and daniel.".

in the next paragraph, the society declares "that angels are not intercessors who bring our prayers before god's throne.

In the next paragraph, the Society declares "that angels are not intercessors who bring our prayers before God's throne. God decided that our prayers should be adressed to him, in the name of Jesus Christ."

I thought that Jesus was Mikaël :-)

Hello Bostero !

Very simple.

On the top of your "Acrobat Reader" screen, you see a lot of icons.

Among them, there is one with the letter T. If your click on this icon, you can select a text with your mouse.

After selecting, you copy the text highlighted (with the right button of the mouse / copy) and then you paste it (with the right button of the mouse / paste) in the wordprocessing of your choice.

If the text selected is too long, copy and paste it in two or three parts.
